Jess & Mitch – Garden Wedding

These two have got to be one of the cutest couples getting around. The type that just really enjoy each others company. Like really. And the type that you enjoy being in their company.
I’ve got to know Mitch & Jess over the last couple of years, and what awesome people they both are. Mitch is the one who I have to lie to on a Monday morning about how much wine I’v drank on the weekend and the cheeseburgers I may or may have not eaten on the way home from the pub. Then I’m sure he decides whether to let me off cardio for the morning or not depending on if he believes me. I always get nervous when people I know ask me to shoot their wedding, it just adds that little bit of extra pressure. What if he doesn’t like his photos? Will I have to get a new personal trainer? Or will it just be awkward? How will I know if he likes them or not? But all the doubt that goes through my mind stops as soon as I walk in that gate on the day, camera in hand, ready to roll. That’s when my heart takes over and my mind shuts up for a minute. I get so emotionally involved in all my weddings I do, and even more so when I know the people. As soon as I saw Mitch I was so extremely excited to be there, and felt so privileged.
Then I saw Jess. And I won’t lie, there was a tear. They both decided to do their wedding day a little different, it was all held on a private property of a close friend that had such beautiful gardens. They started with a early morning ceremony with just their nearest and dearest. Literally just their immediate families. It was so beautiful and intimate. After the ceremony they celebrated with some champagne, we took some photos, then they came back and were introduced as Mr + Mrs to all of their friends ready for a all day/night party. It was perfect.
Jess just looked absolutely breath taking in her Grace loves lace dress. What a lucky man you’re about to marry!
Jess shares a special type of bond with her Dad. One that can’t be hidden, one that just melts you.
In the weeks leading up to the wedding Mitch & Jess would both often say things like “Only one week until I marry my best mate” “I get to call the girl of my dreams and my bestest buddy my wife soon”
Yep, best buddies right there…
Quote Jess “Are we doing okay? I don’t feel like we’re nailing it” Yes Jess. You’re totally nailing it.
And so the party begins! Lawn games, food, champagne, more champagne….what more could one possibly want?
That special bond I was talking about… pass the tissues. Again. Even to me!
I don’t need to wish you both happiness or all the love in the world, because I know you’ll both have it. Thank you so much for having me be part of your special day. I really do feel so privileged to have been there capturing it all. xx
